From wide open roads to cold Atlantic waters
We start in the Swartland and head for the fishing villages, seeing the following en route. Riebeeck Valley, Moorreesburg, Koringberg, Piketberg, Aurora, Elandsbaai, Velddrif, Vredenburg, Paternoster, Saldanha, Mykonos, Langebaan, The Lagoon, West Coast National Park, Kraalbaai, Buffelsfontein, Darling, Malmesbury and over Bothmaskloof back to the Riebeek Valley.

Stage 1 to Elandsbaai
152km & 970m on Wednesday 23 May 2018
Leave from Riebeek Valley Hotel on the R311 towards Moorreesburg. After 27km turn right onto the N7 to Piketberg. Breakfast stop in Piketberg (approx 60km done). In town, while look towards the mountain, turn right onto the R366 towards Elandsbaai. Less than 100km remain till we reach the sea. You can see Piekenierskloof pass in the distance and to your right; Eland next to the road and the waters of Verlorenvlei as we near the finish line.
Stage 2 to Paternoster
106km & 520m on Thursday 24 May 2018
Start the ride with an immediate climb to the high of the day at less than 10kms in. Then we cycle all along the coast, with the sea on our right, to reach Velddrif at about 66kms. Cross the Carinus bridge and turn right onto the R399 to Vredenburg (25km on, at 91km in). Turn right towards Paternoster, just 15km to the finish at the sea.
Stage 3 to Kraalbaai
81km & 500m on Friday 25 May 2018
Retrace yesterday’s last 15kms to reach the highest point for the day, in Vredenburg. Turn right to Saldanha (on the R399), around Saldanha Bay, pass Mykonos and the Country Estate to reach Langebaan at about 45km in. Cycle slowly through the town, into the West Coast National Park and the last 40km around the lagoon to Kraalbaai. Watch out for the tortoises, smell the flowers and stare at the lagoon while navigating the twisty tarmac through the fynbos.
Stage 4 to Riebeeck
101km & 955m on Saturday 26 May 2018
The first 20kms are still being spent inside the WC Park. We backtrack around the lagoon and then exit the park through the gate that takes us onto the R27. Turn right and head towards Yzerfontein (direction Table Mountain). 10km later we swing left onto the R315 to Darling, 15km further, for a quick stop. Then 35km to Malmesbury, where we get hop on the R45/R46 for our last climb to the top of Bothmaskloof. Left at Kloovenburg to finish where it all started.
