We would like you to Experience the Best of the Boland.
Safety first. We provide ride captains, routes and support vehicles, but you are ultimately responsible for your own safety. always let sanity prevail.
Table Mountain. Winelands. Plantations. Vineyards. Sunrise. Sunsets. From dawn till dusk, you will be enchanted by the magic of the Boland.
You are here for a challenge. Make no mistake, some days will be long, but at the same time very rewarding. We’ll ensure a good balance between work and play. And you will grow stronger as we continue, leaving you in peak condition for the CTCT.
This is not a race. There are no medals. Everyone is a winner. Feel free to share your efforts on Strava. We may award some spot prizes for individual efforts and humour on the bike. Banter is encouraged.
We make exclusive use of B&B’s, Hotels, Resorts and Guest Houses. We seriously soak up the Boland hospitality! You can choose whether you want to share with a partner or not.
Half-board. Breakfast is included. Lunch will be for your own account. Then join us for inclusive pre-arranged group dinners with local cuisine, including spit braais and restaurant options.
Drinks will be for your own account, unless otherwise specified. Be sure to ask your ride captain which wine farms to visit.
Optional airport transfers
Some of our international guests booked a longer stay with us that includes the weekend pre and post the Tour de Boland, in order to ride the Cape Town Cycle Tour. For these guests, we can arrange airport transfers to and from their hotel.
We aim to have 3 different speed groups in order to cater for different riding abilities. Follow the guidance of your Tour Guide and Ride Captain if you are unsure which group to select.
Improve your skills
You are not just here to ride and drink wine. You will also learn something. We have professionals on hand to show you some tricks and ensure that you leave as a more efficient rider (unless you are so efficient that you teach our experts a thing or two).
Are those guys we just spoke of. But they do a little more. They stop you when a reason appears. They ask you to ride to the left. They ride on the front of or the back your group. We aim for a minimum of 2 ride captains per group.
Our support vehicles on route are there to carry your luggage between accommodation venues and to serve as mobile water points as below.
With the focus on self-sufficiency and roughly 10 to 15 cyclists per group, our water points will for the most part be spartan and served from the support vehicle. Basics would include water and energy drinks and something light to nibble on, such as fruit.
The water points will be stationed close to shops or farm stalls for our female participants to use the facilities, or that you can acquire a coffee or croissant, should the need arise.
Let’s not kid ourselves, there will be some long days in the saddle. You deserve some pampering. Massages and rub-downs are included during the middle stages of the tour. If you have booked a ride-only Tour, massages can be booked in advance as an extra.
We all want to look the same on the first and the last day, especially for photo opportunities. Jerseys will be available for collection before the start of Stage 1. Specify your jersey size during or the entry process. Size charts are available for assistance.
